I really enjoyed this book, although the author has taken a bit artistic leeway with some of the interpersonal interactions.
Eric Meyer does a fine job of telling fictional battlefield stories that keep you alert and begging for more. Try one of his and I think you will come back for more.
There is just too many things going on, and none of them are given any substance. A young SS officer getting to his first command during the back and forth battles around Kursk would be more than enough to build a great story around with just the history to guide you. But then the author has to add a cheesy murder mystery to that, and then add in a love interest with not quite ideal nazi views. The battle descriptions are very boringly predictable, and you really don't know a thing about the main character. I was really hoping that I would like this since it is part of a series, but there is no way I'll try another one.
Awesome book! If you haven't read any of the other books from this series recommended you do so!
I thought it was a real wonderful read. I plan to read all of his books. Lots of realistic action.

Filled with twists and intrigue the story line is so close to the reality of the political and military situation in Germany during WWII it could possible have Ben a Biography. This is a captivating story of the struggles of a loyal German soldier in the SS.
